Braze and MoEngage both send push, email, SMS, WhatsApp and in-app messages from one platform to consumer brands, and both sell quoted contracts. Braze began as Appboy in 2011 around mobile apps and is used most by mid-market and enterprise lifecycle teams. MoEngage started in 2014 in Bengaluru, pairs messaging with product analytics, and counts more than 1,350 consumer brands as customers.

Need AI agents to build and run product alerts and campaigns end to end? Choose SuprSend
SuprSend is an agentic notification platform for product alerts and customer engagement messages, across email, SMS, push, WhatsApp, Slack, Microsoft Teams and an in-app inbox, with tenants, translations and preferences built in. Product alerts and marketing campaigns run through the same workflows, preferences and logs. An agent in Claude or Cursor connects to the SuprSend MCP server to create a workflow, write its templates, test it and send. Neither Braze’s nor MoEngage’s MCP server builds a Canvas or a Flow.

Pricing
Neither vendor publishes a price, so the example is about the unit. An app with 500,000 stored profiles and 80,000 users active in a month is sized on the 80,000 by both. Braze adds Action Credits for its email and SMS; MoEngage adds whichever add-ons the contract includes, such as WhatsApp or Cards, over a one-year minimum term.

FAQ
Is Braze better than MoEngage?
BrazeBraze is better for a lifecycle team that needs Canvas journeys with experiment paths and agent steps, KakaoTalk or native LINE, and opt-in groups across email, SMS and WhatsApp, and can carry a steeper learning curve.
MoEngage is better for a team that wants to go live quickly, read funnels and retention next to its campaigns, and keep user data in India, Singapore or Indonesia, with strong vendor support.
Which is cheaper, Braze or MoEngage?
Neither publishes a price. Both size the contract on users active in the month, so a large database with few active users costs less than its size suggests on either. The difference is in what sits on top: Braze draws Action Credits for email and SMS, and MoEngage prices WhatsApp, Cards and product analytics as add-ons, so compare quotes for the same audience and channel mix.
Can I use Braze and MoEngage together?
Both SDKs can run in the same app, but each keeps its own profiles, subscriptions and opt-outs. A user who unsubscribes in one still receives messages from the other unless you sync the two, which is why most teams pick one.
What moves when switching from MoEngage to Braze?
Users move by customer ID as Braze external IDs, user attributes become custom attributes, and custom events keep their names. Email subscription categories become subscription groups. Flows are rebuilt as Canvases, and templates move from Jinja to Liquid. The app swaps one SDK for the other, and push credentials are added to Braze.
What if agents build workflows?
SuprSend runs alerts and campaigns from agent-built workflows over MCP.
