Frequently Asked Questions

We're here to help with any questions you have about plans, pricing, and supported features.
What is a notification?
A notification is defined as a message triggered to a single user or object on any downstream channel (eg. Email, Push, In-app, SMS, Slack, Webhook, etc).
What qualifies as a notification for billing purposes?
• If a workflow triggers notifications to one user on multiple channels (e.g., Email, SMS, and In-app), each channel counts as a separate notification.

• If a workflow triggers a call to a webhook endpoint, it counts as a separate notification.

• If a workflow triggers notifications to multiple users in bulk request, each user’s notification is counted separately.

• Notifications that are failed by SuprSend due to reasons like user opt-out or inactive channels, etc, they are not counted towards billing.

• If a notification is successfully triggered by SuprSend but is failed by the downstream provider, it will be counted towards billing.

• In case of batching / digest where multiple requests are batched or grouped into one notification (e.g., a digest email), it counts as one notification for billing.

• If a notification is triggered to an object which has it own channel (e.g., object feed), it is treated like a user channel and counts as one notification. Additionally, if the object has subscribers and notifications are sent to them, those are also counted separately.
Do you offer any other billing models other than Notifications triggered count?
Yes, we do offer MTU model (unique users who are triggered a notification in any given month) alongside notifications triggered count. Contact us to let us know your billing requirements and we will prepare a custom plan.
Is SuprSend billing based only on the notifications triggered, regardless of the number of requests sent to SuprSend?
Yes, we do not charge based on number of requests you make to SuprSend to trigger your designed notification workflows. However, to ensure smooth system performance, we have a generous fair limit on the number of requests allowed.

If we detect an unusually high volume of requests, which is typically caused by a bug or misconfiguration on your end, we will reach out to address the issue and ensure uninterrupted service.
What happens if I exceed the free plan limit without a billing method set up?
We do not stop processing and sending your notification requests. We will alert and contact you if your account goes over the free plan limit, and you can either upgrade your account or we can discuss custom pricing requirements.
Is there a free trial of the paid plans?
Yes, we provide a Sandbox for one month, where you can access all the features of the paid plans. Post one month, you can upgrade to one of the paid plans, or continue building on Free plan.
Do you offer any discounts for startups and non-profits?
We support the success of startups by offering exclusive discounts through our SuprSend for Startups program. If your startup meets the criteria, you can access special pricing and resources to help you scale. Learn more about how to qualify here.
How does the billing cycle work?
For Monthly Plan, your billing starts on the day you subscribe to a paid plan. You’ll be charged immediately for the first month, and the subscription will renew on the same day each month. Any usage-based or overage charges will be calculated at the end of the month and added to your next month’s bill. For instance, if you upgrade on 7th of a given month, you will be immediately charged for that month, and the next charge will be on 7th of the following month.

Annual Plans are billed upfront for the entire year on the day of subscription. This option typically comes with cost savings compared to monthly billing. Any overages or usage exceeding plan limits are calculated monthly and billed at the end of each month, unless stated otherwise. Contact us to know more.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes, we do offer discounts at high volume and annual commitments, contact us for the custom plan.
Do I still have to pay for third-party providers such as Twilio or Mailjet while using SuprSend?
Yes, SuprSend is a central orchestration layer integrated with your preferred providers. You will need to bring your own provider accounts, such as Twilio, Sendgrid or Mailjet, and pay the providers directly for their consumption.
For which channels will I need downstream messaging providers?
For SMS and Email, you will need downstream messaging providers. For Whatsapp, you can choose between a provider or directly with Whatsapp Cloud API. For Mobile Push, Web Push, Slack, Teams and In-app Inbox, we offer direct integrations with the channels and you do not require any intermediary provider.
Does SuprSend sign BAAs for HIPAA-compliant customers?
Yes, SuprSend is HIPAA compliant and we sign BAA for customers on Enterprise plan. Contact us for more details.
Do you offer any Service Level Agreements (SLAs)?
Yes, we do offer SLAs in our Enterprise plan. Contact us for more details.
Do you offer an annual contract and billing option?
Yes, SuprSend provides annual contracts with invoicing options for Enterprise plan. Opting for annual billing streamlines your payment process and offers savings compared to monthly plan. For larger teams and enterprises, we also offer customized contracts to meet your specific requirements. Reach out to us to learn more about customized enterprise agreements and flexible invoicing solutions.
